Anne Almasy Ad Rejected Initially
I saw this ad for Anne Almasy, a wedding photographer on Adfreak and I had to give my two-cents. The whole story was that Weddings Unveiled, a wedding magazine initially rejected (hence this post’s title) the ad because it featured a photo of two women about to kiss. The magazine then promptly received a strongly worded open letter pretty much calling the editors of the magazine spineless for following beliefs not even their own. The magazine backtracked and allowed Ms. Almasy to use the original photo.
Now, here is my issue with this whole story, couldn’t this just have been a play by the magazine to garner more attention positive or otherwise? I mean, this simple rejection got condemning letter from the photographer, coverage on the ad blogs, and I’m sure Anne Almasy’s website got more then its usual share of Web traffic. I’m sure the same goes for the magazine’s brand and Web properties.
