Google Pixel Ad On NBA Court
During the Bucks and Bulls NBA playoff game 1 I swear I saw Google Pixel ad flashing on the court itself? Could they be engaging in subliminal advertising? A subliminal message is a message that is meant to sort of ‘slip past your mental radar’ and embed itself deep into your subconscious mind. The word itself refers to the fact that this message should pass below (that is, sub) your normal perception, underneath its limits – therefore being liminal. The most classic examples of subliminal advertising and messaging include: The shape of the glass Coca Cola bottle is one of the most recognisable shapes on the planet, but many people believe…
Google CODA Commercial
Google’s CODA TV spot tells the story of a man named Tony. Tony is what’s known as a “CODA”, a child of deaf adults. Tony’s parents were both born deaf, so he grew up speaking sign language and translating for his parents. During the pandemic, Tony hasn’t been able to see his parents in person, but he can still communicate with them through the use of technology, including letting his parents spend time with their new grand-baby. You should note that all the technology in the commercial is a Google related product so no this is not an ode to a certain Apple TV show which I’ll talk about…
Netflix and Google Made a Google Home Game for Stranger Things Season 2
Add Google to the list of companies that have a Stranger Things season 2 activation. Netflix partnered with the tech giant to create a voice-activated game for the second season that you play through your Google Home or Google Home Mini voice assistant. The device acts as a walkie-talkie—all you have to do is say “Hey Google, talk to Dustin from Stranger Things” over the course of watching the second season. Players are asked questions about the new season, helping the characters progress in the game. Winners eventually get inducted into the Hawkins AV Club. Read more on Adfreak!
Google Commercial: Story of Jacob
So, I missed the ESPY awards today but apparently, Google aired its first television commercial during the show. The commercial, a two-minute-plus spot focus on a gym dedicated to providing transgender athletes a place to work out — known as Jacob & City Gym. Interestingly enough, the commercially aired moments before USWNT star Abby Wambach presented the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage to Caitlyn Jenner. Thought of something else, Why are giving this person an award regardless of his/her courage? Wasn’t he/she responsible for the death of another person? See Google’s debut into television advertising below. My question is this, why is Caitlyn Jenner’s gender identity still being discussed? Why can’t we…
Microsoft: We Will Continue Our Scroogled Campaign “As Long As Google Keeps Scroogling People”
Despite rumors to the contrary, Microsoft’s Scroogled campaign is long from over. Earlier today, a number of publications picked up on a comment by Bing Search Director Stefan Weitz who told KQED that the campaign is “about finished.” Now, however, a Microsoft spokesperson has told us that this is not true and that we should “stay tuned for the next chapter.” Here is the full statement from Microsoft: “Scroogled will go on as long as Google keeps Scroogling people. We know Google doesn’t like it when the facts come out. Chapter two of the consumer education campaign has shown people care about their privacy. More than 3.5 million people visited…
